Frequency of Vitamin D Deficiency in Children with Tuberculosis

Objective: To find the frequency of vitamin d deficiency in children with tuberculosis. Study Design: Case control study Place and Duration Study: Department Pediatric Medicine Unit 2, Sandeman Provincial Hospital, Quetta from 1st December 2021 to 31st May 2022. Methodology: One hundred 1 15 years which were divided into two groups. Group A had 50 patients/children suffering tuberculosis while B healthy controls. 2cc blood was withdrawn for D3 testing. The results confounding factors D compared within both Results: mean age cases controls 7.5±2.3 4.2±1.2 respectively. There more boys higher number girls observed deficient Vitamin levels it that 34% severe 32% mild where a significant variance noticed 20% 24% deficiency. Conclusion: 66% reported.
